Multibit wallet password bug? please help me!

In late 2013 I purchased a small amount of Bitcoin and stored it in a MultiBit Classic wallet. At the time I was new to crypto, so I simply backed up the .wallet file and set it aside.I recently decided to check on it. the wallet opens and correctly displays the balance, but the password I am sure correct one that I used no longer works. I have tested every plausible variation without success. The error messages are “wallet password is incorrect” or “could not decrypt bytes.”  I reached on github and google, reddit. i understand MultiBit Classic had a known password-handling bug in later versions that could cause a previously correct password to fail. but there is no solution to it. I just found your page about the bug. could you help me? I would be happy to donate a 40% of balance to you. Thanks in advance.
